大熊熬夜过圣诞节

The day before Christmas, snuggled on his floor.

大熊在圣诞节前夕舒适地蜷缩在地上冬眠。

Bear sleeps soundly, with a great big snore.

他睡得太熟了，还大喊大叫。

" Dear Bear, GET UP!" Mouse shouts in his ear.

小老鼠在他耳边叫道：“亲爱的大熊，起来！

" We won't let you sleep through Christmas this year."

"我们不能让你在今年圣诞节就这样睡觉。

His friends are all there, gathered in his lair...

熊的朋友们都来到洞里。……

And the bear wakes up.

于是大熊醒了。

He stands with a stretch and a great big sigh.

" I hope I can make it. I do want to try."

「我也希望圣诞节不要冬眠，我确实想试试。

" Don't worry," squeaks Mouse.

小老鼠唧唧喳喳地说：“别担心！

Hare says, " It' s all right. We' ll keep you busy all day and all night."

兔子说：“没什么。我们会让你整天整夜忙碌。

He tries to lie down, but his friends all frown...

熊又要躺下了，朋友们不愿再躺下了。……

so the bear stays up.

所以大熊忍着不睡觉。

" Come on," says Badger,

"来啊，"獾说，

" time to follow me. In Pine Grove Glen, there' s a fine Christmas tree."

"该跟我走了。派恩格罗夫小树林里有一棵很好的圣诞树！

So they stomp through the woods and they tromp down the track.

所以他们走过树林，走过小路。

They hoist up the tree onto Bear's big back.

她们拔出圣诞树，把它抬到熊背上。

He plods very slow as they trudge through the snow.

熊走得很慢，每个人都在雪地里挣扎着跋涉。

But the bear stays up.

Back at the cave, Gopher brews mint tea,

and Mole pops corn to string upon the tree.

Raven and Wren bake a fresh fruitcake.

The friends do their best to keep Bear awake.

His shoulders start to stoop and his eyelids droop.

But the bear stays up.

They hang up their stockings by warm firelight and hum Christmas songs like " O Holy Night."

每个人都挂着自己的袜子，在温暖的火光下哼着“圣善夜”这样的圣诞歌谣。

They cuddle and sing as they wait for the sun...

他们互相依偎，哼着歌，期待着黎明的到来。……

But soon all the voices fade to just one.

不久，只剩下一个声音了。

A bright star glows while his good friends doze...

远处的星星闪耀，周围的朋友却进入了梦乡。...

but the bear stays up!

但是大熊还是醒了！

Bear giggles and grins.

大熊咯咯地笑了笑。

He works and he wraps. He bustles and bakes while everyone naps.

别人在睡觉，他却忙着包礼物，烤蛋糕。

He piles up presents under the tree.

他把礼物堆在树下。

But who's at the doorway?

Bear doesn't see...

熊没注意到……

He toils all night until the sun rises, making his friends their Christmas surprises!

为给朋友们准备圣诞惊喜，他忙了一夜，直到太阳亮了。

Just before dawn he lets out a yawn...but he still stays up.

就在黎明前，他还打了个哈欠。……但是，他仍然醒着。

When Christmas arrives, so lovely and white, Bear' s friends awake to a glorious sight.

终于到了圣诞节，醒来的朋友们惊叹不已！洞穴布局得如此光彩夺目。

Presents and goodies are piled up tall.

礼品和美味的食物堆积成小山。

" I stayed up," says Bear, " just to share with you all."

As his friends shout with glee, Bear lies by the tree...but he still stays up.

大熊的朋友们高兴地叫着，大熊躺在圣诞树上。……但是，他仍然醒着。

Wren flies to the stockings and tweets out a cheer.

鸟儿飞到袜子旁，高兴得叽叽喳喳。

" Besides our bear' s presents, Santa was here!"

圣诞老人昨天也来了，除了大熊送给大家的礼物！

When all gifts are opened, there' s one last surprise.

所有的礼物都打开了，但是最后还是有一个惊喜哦。

Badger shows Bear a quilt just his size.

獾拿出一床适合大熊盖的新被子。

Bear snuggles up tight and mutters, "Good night..."

大熊舒舒服服地蜷缩成一团，咕哝着说：“大家晚安。……”

Then Bear falls asleep.

所以，大熊睡着了。

His friends tidy up and slip from the lair.

他的朋友们整理好山洞，悄悄地走了出去。

They whisper, " Sweet dreams. Merry Christmas, dear Bear."

她们小声说：“做个好梦。圣诞快乐，亲爱的熊。
