Gold Rubles

Once upon a time, there was a poor but simple peasant who found a gold ruble in his field. The gold ruble was not as clean and shining as you thought. Instead, the gold ruble looked dirty, with lots of tiny spots on it. Then the whole village knew about it, and a young man said to him, "If you will give me that gold ruble, I will give you three lots of nickels."

"Wait a minute," thought the peasant. "Surely this gold ruble will fetch a higher price. I should have thought of a better way to make them rush to buy!"

So, he found a lot of materials, like sand, lead powder, bricks and so on. Then he sprinkled sand and lead over the bricks and began to polish the gold ruble. He worked with great vigor and enthusiasm.

The peasant managed to increase the value of his gold rubles so that he could make a handsome profit. But in the end, with his hard work, his gold ruble became thinner and smaller. Instead of rising in value, it fell in value.

金卢布

从前，有一个家境贫寒却很朴实的农民，他在自己的田地里捡起了一块金卢布。这金卢布不像你想象的那么干净，发出耀眼的光芒。相反，金卢布看上去很脏，上面有许多小斑点。之后，村里的每个人都知道了这个消息。一个年轻人对他说：如果你愿意给我金卢布，我愿意和你交换三把五分硬币。”

农夫想尽一切办法让他手中的金卢布增值，赚了很多钱。但最终，在他的辛勤打磨下，他的金卢布变得越来越薄，越来越小。不仅没有增值，反而大大降价。
